BECOME A FRIEND

As a registered charity which does not receive any regular funding, ESO relies on the generosity of its supporters. By becoming a Friend of ESO you will be helping to secure the future of the Orchestra, enabling us to continue adventurous programming and our work with children and young people, supporting and inspiring the next generation of performers and audiences.

There are a number of Friends levels through which supporters will be the first to hear news of our concerts, receive exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ content and special invitations, bringing you closer to the Orchestra and its personnel.

Please click here to find out more and to choose one of our Friends options.

MAKE A DONATION

Please consider making a donation to ESO so that we can continue to offer exciting programmes under our dynamic Music Director, bringing world class soloists to Chelmsford and expanding our special projects aimed at children and young people, inspiring the next generation of musicians and audiences.

We seek funding towards:

  • general rehearsal and concert running costs: engaging professional musicians and soloists, along with venue, instrument and music hire, which annually amount to around £3,500
  • sharing a love of live orchestral music through our Musical Chairs scheme: offering 20 free of charge tickets to first time attendees of ESO concerts, annual cost £900
  • community outreach projects: currently we spend around £2,000 per annum on projects for children and young people and your donation would enable us to fulfil our ambitions to further develop this work to benefit other areas of the community.

GRANT FUNDING

ESO is grateful to the Essex Community Fund for support of our Family Concert and Young Person’s Orchestral Workshop.

LEAVE A LEGACY

Remembering ESO with a gift in your will is a very special way to preserve Chelmsford’s local orchestra for future generations. After providing for your loved ones, a gift of any size would make a real difference to our future, hosting adventurous concerts and delivering special projects for the children and young people of Essex.

We would be delighted if you made the future of ESO a part of your legacy. If you choose to do so, we would love to hear from you and discuss how we might recognise your support in your lifetime.

For more information or to arrange a confidential conversation about leaving a legacy, please contact:

Anne Rushton, Chair, Essex Symphony Orchestra     esochair1@gmail.com

To find out more about leaving a gift in your will to ESO, we have provided a short fact sheet including some points to consider, which is available to download below. We strongly recommend that you seek advice from a professional solicitor when writing your will, to ensure your wishes are recorded accurately.
